This course is aimed at helping clinicians deal with implant complications and will appeal to dentists currently treating patients with dental implants. The day will cover a range of topics including the legal aspects of treatment as well as surgical and restorative difficulties associated with implant technology. Digital implant planning from a surgical perspective will be covered from start to finish. This includes CBCT and intraoral scanning, as well as providing you with the surgical guidance necessary for the process.
Topics to be covered include: The failing dentition; when to extract and the timing of implant surgery following tooth extraction as well as what should be considered before reaching for the forceps and the sequelae of tooth extraction. The current protocols of implant placement will be reviewed along with the indications for regenerative therapies in conjunction with implant surgery
The etiology of biological complications after implant surgery. This will include the prevention and management of peri-implant diseases.
Prosthetically soft tissue management around completed restorations; angulation corrections along with complications such as broken screws and inaccurate impressions will be discussed.
Identifying the possible pitfalls of CAD CAM and digitally restored implant restorations. Legally the importance of communication.
