Understanding oral & dental anatomy for dental surgery and implants

Aims:

To update delegates on the oral and dental anatomy relevant to dental implants.

Objectives:

By the end of this session, dentists and nurses should have a better understanding of oral and dental anatomy and how this relates to:

• Planning implant placement around important anatomical structure

• Choice and location of local anaesthesia

• Surgical flap design and nursing assistance

• Management of post-operative complications

GDC development outcomes:

A - Effective communication with patients, the dental team and others across dentistry.

C - Maintenance and development of your knowledge and skill within your field of practice.
